Our Junior Youth Group is comprised of our middle school students and meets during the 10:30 AM Sunday service in Deese Hall. This group will not meet on the first Sunday of each month. Following the wonderful curriculum of Living the Good News we learn through bible study and open discussion how our faith guides us through our everyday challenges as we grow in our identity as young Episcopalians. The Junior Youth Group joins the congregation each week for Communion.
New for 2008 we have added a Senior Youth Group which will be comprised of our high school students. This group will meet with Rev. Connie Clark in Deese Hall after the 5PM service on the 2nd and 4th Sunday of each month. Over a potluck dinner Rev. Connie Clark will lead the discussion to explore the challenges and wonders of growing into adulthood as a young Episcopalian in the world today.
Together, our Youth Groups plan outreach activities, conduct fundraising for special causes, and of course, participate in fun and fellowship! Highlights from the past have been participation in the CROP Walk; bake sales; spring clean-up for the Ronald McDonald House; PACHEM; Game Nights; and Rock Climbing.
Please call our Buck Mountain Church at 434-973-2054 to find out what we have planned for fall!
Every Sunday, children younger than three are welcome to visit our nursery during our 10:30 AM service. Our nursery is located in Deese Hall. You will find lots of toys, books and fun!
Children ages 3 through 9 are invited to attend our Sunday School program. We use the Living the Good News curriculum which provides age appropriate bible stories, art, and games. Our teachers are members of our own Buck Mountain community who volunteer their time, enthusiasm, and creativity! We meet every Sunday at 10:30 in our classroom located in Deese Hall except on the first Sunday of each month. We have added something very special this year!
Beginning in October, Buck Mountain Church has added a service specifically for our families! On the first Sunday of each month from 9:30 – 10:00AM Rev. Connie Clark will conduct a service in which the message will be clear and simple, the songs fun to sing, and participation encouraged!
Please feel free to contact Shelley Smith at 434- 974-7613 with any questions you may have.
We hope you’ll join us!
